Aggregates services to Oxford Banbury Road have been badly affected by the closure of the section to Didcot due to problems with the Nuneham Viaduct over the Thames. This empty working back to Whatley Quarry has diverted via the re-instated Bicester line back to West London in order to reach the Berks and Hants route at Reading. Class 66/5 No. 66563 is crossing Hungerford Common after the enormous detour on 24th April 2023, and is likely to have to continue to do so for some weeks yet.
