This Steam Dreams excursion on 28th July 2022 travelled down to Bath Spa this morning from London Victoria via the GW mainline through Swindon. Originally planned to be steam-hauled, the LSL Class 47 replacements have had an easy job working to the 60mph schedule and not requiring water stops. Also unexpected was the return via the Berks and Hants line with LSL Class 47/4 D1944 CRAFTSMAN seen here slowing for a short stay in the loop on Hungerford Common and thus getting tangled up with the shuttle DMU to Bedwyn. Following the acquisition of Steam Dreams by the owners of LSL earlier in the year it was interesting to see the use of the Pullman stock from Statesman Rail when we are more used to Steam Dreams collaborating with West Coast Railways for operating, haulage and rolling stock.
