There has been a resumption of activity from Machen Quarry in S Wales on the Berks and Hants line in recent weeks, with both DB Cargo and DCR involved - although most trains have been working in the dark of these short winter days. Occasionally DCR have run their Class 60-hauled return working during the morning as is the case on 15th March 2022, when No. 60055 'Thomas Barnardo' is seen by the reedbeds beside the Kennet and Avon canal approaches Crofton with the empties from the DCR sidings at Willesden. As usual the Cappagh markings on the blue stone wagons are undecipherable when viewed at this angle.
