When fresh like this the colours of the old EWS livery still look attractive in the low winter sun - more than can be said for the artwork on the wagons! Unusually the Whatley Quarry to Churchyard Sidings stone train has been let through ahead of the GWR local service returning from Bedwyn - to little avail though as the train is slowing ready to enter the goods loop ahead. The driver is looking back from the side window of Class 66/0 No. 66174 ensuring that he has the slowing train under control. On 14th December 2018 a heavy frost has yet to clear from the north-facing sections of Hungerford Common.
