The afternoon empties returning to Whatley Quarry from Allington in Kent thread their way through the reverse curves on Hungerford Common on 17th August 2017 with Class 59/0 No. 59005 in charge. The area has recently been blitzed by NR contractors clearing lineside vegetation, leaving the ground in a sorry state. The view is further compromised by the appearance of the water treatment works after Thames Water removed their conifer hedging screen.
