Testimony to the advanced roll-out of Class 800 IEP bi-mode units on GWR services to the west - HSTs were in the minority in the Vale of White Horse and two of the new 2x5-car units were caught together near Shrivenham on 16th May 2018. Possibly No. 800005 is leading a down service to Swansea and No. 800027 is at the rear of an up service from Bristol TM. In spite of the amount of electrification hardware in view, none of the 8 pantographs are deployed as they hurry by stealthily on diesel power.
