Class 66/0 No. 66040 powers through Newbury on the main line with a lunchtime stone empties from Theale to Whatley Quarry on 27th April 2018. The impressive footbridge is now closed to the public, replaced by the new structure behind me, and is due to be craned out of position shortly, after which the view will change dramatically with the arrival electrification masts and wires.
