It was anticipated that today's Dorset Coast Express from London Victoria to Weymouth would be in the charge of A4 haulage, so it was with considerable surprise that onlookers on the platform at Micheldever saw LNER B1 Class No. 61306 'Mayflower' come bursting out of the distant tunnel through the chalk downs on 12th August 2015. It was reported that there were gauging issues which prented the use of the A4.
