Train 1A19, the up Cornish Riviera Limited, seen from the sea wall at Dawlish passing the characteristically eroded sandstone cliffs, is in the charge of Class 52 C-C diesel hydraulic No. D1048 'Western Lady' in overcast weather conditions on 9th July 1975. The locomotive is one of the few of its class to survive into preservation in spite of the damage evident to its lower bodywork.
