The Rigi mountain is a very popular leisure destination in Central Swithzerland. It can be reached by two rack railways - that from Arth-Goldau climbs at a maximum gradient of 20% from a base station mounted above and at right-angles to the Gotthard main line. on 18th June 1992 a blue and white two car Arth-Rigi Bahn unit is waiting in the station for its next departure up the mountain, seen high in the sky and dimly through the mist, while a push-pull worked departs from the main line station.
