Class 33/2 No. 33207 'Earl Mountbatten of Burma' from the MDIB (Distribution - Dover Train Ferry) pool is busy sorting ferry wagons in the yard on the seafront at Dover on 20th March 1993. The coastal line from Folkestone carries straight ahead for the Marine station built on to the western arm of the harbour, whereas a left turn at the junction box heads for Dover Priory and the inland routes. The large white building was the Victorian-era Lord Warden (of the Cinque Ports) Hotel used by all the great and good when Dover became the main crossing point to France, latterly used as offices by the Dover Harbour Board. The listed building is still extant as offices but the yard has been cleared of track and the Marine station is no longer used since the advent of the Channel Tunnel.
