At General Tudorov station on 16th May 2023, junction location for the branch to nearby Petrich in SW Bulgaria, BDZ-PP Skoda Class 44 electric No. 44-100 is ready to depart with the SUB 50253 (11:45) service to Kulata. This loco had previously arrived from Blagoevgrad, the SUB 50241 service to Petrich. A weak bridge on the Petrich branch prevents the use of the Skoda electrics, three-axle Class 46 electrics being the preferred option which requires a loco swap on arrival at General Tudorov which makes for an interesting few minutes of run-round manoeuvres.
