Unlike in the UK, in Bulgaria virtually all trains are loco-hauled and run round manoeuvres are common place. on 8th September 2022, at Svishtov the crew of the 14:47 suburban service from Levski are doing exactly that. Romanian-built Class 55 No. 55-196 pulls forward with the points man hitching a lift to save his legs. Everything here at Svishtov in Northern Bulgaria is manually operated. After a short interlude locomotive and coach will return south with the mid-afternoon SUB 24207 (15:20) Svishtov to Levski BDZ PP (Bulgarian State run Railway) passenger service.
