In the goods yard opposite Gippeswyk Park a trainload of export MG sports cars from Abingdon awaits tripping to the docks (more likely from Harwich than Felixstowe at this time?) for onward transit. Gippeswyk - Anglo Saxon Ipswich settlement on the River Gipping, feeding into the Orwell estuary.
