Class 44 No. 44004 'Great Gable' draws forward in the up sidings at Toton Yard preparing to back on to a loaded working while Class 25/1 No. 25053 awaits its next assignment on 18th April 1979. The Class 44, one of the original Peaks, does not appear to have its nameplate but still had a year of service with BR before the withdrawal of the last three members of the class on 30th November 1980. Happily it has survived through to preservation.
