Contractors have diligently cleared the way for the 3-car local train stops at Hungerford, but GWR feel unable to provide a stopping service between Bedwyn and Newbury even though this HST service from Penzance has managed to get through the complete length of the line from the far West. Class 43 HST power car No. 43147 leads the way through the almost deserted surroundings, whereas the local stopping Class 165/6 DMUs are being turned back at Newbury on 3rd March 2018.
