The changing scene at Chard Junction greets Network Rail's New Measurement Train (NMT) Class 43 power cars Nos. 43062 'John Armitt' and 43013 on 11th January 2018, while working the 05:48 Reading Triangle Sidings - Exeter - Salisbury - Westbury - Salisbury. On arrival at Salisbury, the train then worked a return run to Southampton before returning to Reading. The two sidings on the left used to serve the local milk and cheese processing factory which today no longer exists.
