'THE ROYAL WESSEX' Three Bridges to Weymouth on 12th November 2016. BR (S) 'rebuilt' Light Pacific Class Pacific No. 34046 'BRAUNTON' masquerading, very appropriately on armistice weekend, as 34052 'LORD DOWDING' with support and rear end assistance provided by West Coast's 47832 regains the double track section on arrival at Dorchester South. Originally billed to run on 8th October the redated RTC tour was unusually only steam hauled on the outbound run, the return being diesel hauled almost throughout with 34052 only providing banking assistance as far as Wareham where it was detached and positioned to the nearby Swanage Railway, returning to Southall L/E and support coach the following day.
