Looking very Eastern European Sofia-based Winterthur 3593/1935 Mikado Class 2-8-2 No. 01.23 is captured under the wires slowing for a booked stop at Radomir on 12th October 2019. In the Bulgarian capital BDZ-PP (Bulgarian State run Railway ) maintains a small department devoted to 'Special Trains' of which this is one, a Sofia to Kyustendil via Radomir and return day trip. The consist is of particular interest with the water tank coupled behind the loco which in turn is attached to a coach from the historic Royal Train No. 51 52 9810 050-1. BDZ normally demands that a water tank is hauled behind the locomotive as water supplies can be erratic across the network.
