An interesting late afternoon scene at Pirdop on 14th October 2017, with an array of available motive power present awaiting their next turn of duty. In this view are six Romanian built Class 40 Electric locomotives, four in GFR livery and two in 'Rolling Stock' branding plus eight imported British Class 87 that were built in Crewe, 87012, 87026, 87028, 87019, 87007, 87022, 87029 and 87004. Of the 17 examples of the latter some retained their original UK liveries, 87-012 being a prime example. Since this image was recorded 87-012 has undergone a complete overhaul and repaint and amazingly was out-shopped still in the familiar blue, red and white livery that we all remember!.
