There are currently a great many changes happening around Reading station as it is rebuilt and resignalled in preparation for Crossrail and the electrification of the Great Western Main Line. Reading panel was demolished to make way for additional platforms and catenary masts such as those in this picture have been erected. Here, FGW Class 165 No. 165111 is pictured leaving Reading with a Paddington to Oxford semi-fast service, passing one of the new signals which includes a route indicator waiting to be brought into use once the remodelling works are completed.
