Resident Dean Forest Railway Class 73 No. 73001 is pictured at Norchard having just been fuelled and waiting for a path to Lydney Junction, while Class 08 No. 08769 prepares to shunt some rolling stock requiring servicing. The railway returned No. 73001 back to traffic in September and more recently 'Austerity' 0-6-0T No. 3806 'Wilbert' and ex GWR 4575 2-6-2T No. 5541 to traffic after lengthy overhauls. Also due to be opened shortly will be an improved cafe and visitor facilities at Norchard, which were being constructed behind the photographer on the day in question.
