Aylesbury Depot held an Open Day on 25th April 1992 where a number of locos were stabled for public inspection. In connection with this, a shuttle passenger service between Aylesbury and the Chiltern line at Princes Risborough was provided, memorably operated by steam for the occasion. GWR Castle class No. 5029 'Nunney Castle' was in between turns here attracting crowds on the footbridge. Back in the day, Aylesbury saw express passenger steam services on the Great Central railway, latterly the LNER.
