In spite of its outside-framed design the GWR City 4-4-0 class was a 20th Century product emerging from Swindon works in 1903. Nearly 90 years later No. 3440 'City of Truro' belies its age as it storms away from High Wycombe with a 7-coach special for London Paddington on 3rd May 1992, on what was expected at the time to be its last mainline run. Never say never again! (On You Tube there is a video of its arrival at Paddington later in the day).
