'Western' Class 52 diesel hydraulic No. D1071 'Western Renown' drifts into Exeter St Davids on 5th August 1972 with 1B35, the 10:30 London Paddington - Paignton service. The loco was new from Crewe Works in November 1963 and first allocated to Old Oak Common (81A), it was withdrawn from Laira in December 1976 and cut-up at Swindon Works in November 1978.
