Semaphore signals abound as Brush Type 4 diesel electric No. 1536 arrives at Peterborough on a dull 9th May 1972 with 1A14, the 09:25 Leeds - London King's Cross service. Note the Gresley buffet car in the formation. Two-tone green classmate No. 1992 is stabled in the adjacent platform. 1536 was new from Loughborough in August 1963 and became Class 47/4 No. 47428 under TOPS. It was withdrawn in January 1989 and scrapped by Vic Berry of Leicester during August 1990. 1992 later became Class 47/0 No. 47290 and is still in service as Class 57/3 No. 57316.
