With the tall high-rise tower blocks of Barton Hill just glimpsed in the far distance, recently re-geared Class 66/6 No. 66651 approaches Parson Street forming the 10:22 Margam-Portbury Dock empties on a dull and overcast 24th June 2024. This locomotive which was formerly Class 66/0 No. 66221, recently underwent modifications to its gearing to afford greater haulage capability, and would no doubt benefit from the alteration when hauling the heavy 17:59 Portbury-Margam loaded steel slab working later in the day.
