With remnants of the previous night's storm clouds making a slow retreat. ‘Hanson'-liveried Class 59/1 No. 59103 ‘Village of Mells' is photographed Thingley junction forming the diverted 06:13 Wembley Reception Sidings-Merehead Quarry empties on a sunny 5th January 2024. This is one of many diversions which were operating due to a number of routes closed as a result of severe flooding.
