On LINE 4 in the Stara Planina mountain region of Central Bulgaria we find a reminder from the past plinthed at Tsareva Livada station. Cosmetically restored Hanomag 5911/1911 is one of an original batch of Class 2-6-2T tank locomotives dating from 1911-1916. An additional order of similar locomotives were produced by Schwartzkopff in 1921 with both batches later being classified as Class 35. Tank loco No. 35.05 displays a Gorna Oryahovitsa shed plate on the lower cab side. What an interesting and busy history this locomotive must carry having been shedded at such a major location on the Bulgarian Railway Network. Image taken at Tsareva Livada station on 25th July 2019.
