The shape of things to come for the Merseyrail network in the form of the fleet of 'Stadler Rail' Class 777 DC EMUs. These soon to be introduced EMUs are due to replace the ageing fleet of Class 507 and 508 units which have given good service to Merseyside for roughly 40 years. Here at Southport, brand new Class 777 No. 777003 awaits its next turn of duty on 7th February 2022.
