Still currently in service with DRS, Brush Type 4 diesel electric No. D1931 is seen stabled between duties at Gloucester Horton Road MPD on 11th September 1970. New from Loughborough in February 1966 and allocated to Bristol Bath Road (82A), it went on to become Class 47/0 No. 47254 under TOPS in March 1974, Class 47/4 No. 47651 in March 1986 and No. 47806 in August 1989. It was never named and was withdrawn in July 2002. The loco was rebuilt for Virgin Trains as Class 57/3 'Thunderbird' No. 57309 in June 2003 and was named 'Brains' from then until March 2012. It was then acquired by Direct Rail Services and named 'Pride of Crewe' in June 2012.
