Type 2 diesel electric No. D5344 stabled in the yard at Inverness MPD on 12th July 1969. New from the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in October 1959 and initially allocated to Haymarket (64B), it became Class 26 No. 26044 under TOPS in 1973. It was withdrawn in January 1984 and cut up by Vic Berry at Thornton Junction during February 1987. Note the tablet-catcher apparatus on both locomotives and the second-hand door fitting.
