A most unusual visitor to the Portbury branch is 'Colas' Class 56 No. 56087, which is seen at Ashton Gate level crossing while working 0Z59, 11:30 Portbury-Hoo Junction Yard route learning move. The buildings directly behind the locomotive once belonged to Strachan & Henshaw which was a major defence and engineering firm Based in Bristol. The Babcock International Group plc now occupies the site on 17th May 2013.
