Class 87 No. 87002 'Royal Sovereign' stabled alongside Class 86/1 No. 86101 'Sir William A Stanier FRS' at Carlisle on 9th February 2013. Both are owned by the AC Locomotive Group. 87002 was new from Crewe Works in June 1973. 86101 was new as No. E3191 from English Electric, Vulcan Foundry, in November 1965 and became Class 86 No. 86201 under TOPS in 1973. It was re-numbered to 86101 in January 1975.
