'Warship' Class 42 diesel hydraulic No. 811 'Daring' at Exeter St Davids on 12th September 1970 having just arrived with a service from Barnstaple. In the adjacent platform is a Swindon Cross Country DMU which had arrived on a working from Paignton. Motor Second No. W51588 is nearest the camera. The 'Warship' was new from Swindon Works in October 1959 and first allocated to Laira (83D). It was withdrawn in January 1972 and cut-up at its birthplace during October of that year.
