English Electric Class 55 'Deltic' diesel electric No. 9020 'Nimbus' waiting to depart from York on 8th June 1971 with a London King's Cross - Aberdeen express. New from Vulcan Foundry in February 1962 and first allocated to Finsbury Park (34G), it became Class 55 No. 55020 under TOPS. Withdrawn in January 1980, it was the first 'Deltic' to be cut-up, this being at Doncaster Works during the same month.
