A pair of Stanier locos, Class 8F 2-8-0 No. 48356 and Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45202 rest at their home Depot of Newton Heath MPD (9D) on 15th June 1968. The 8F was new from Horwich Works in June 1944 and the Black 5 was new from Armstrong Whitworth in October 1935. The end was looming and both were withdrawn from Newton Heath before the end of that month.
