During the festive break, major engineering works were undertaken in connection with HS2 at Old Oak Common necessitating in alterations and diversions to a number of services between London Paddington and Reading. In this view, GWR IET Class 800, Nos. 800036 and 800031 make an unusual sight as they await departure time with the 10:22 London Euston-Swansea working (via Acton Wells) on a cold and dull 29th December 2024.
