On the morning of 6th August 2018 a major signalling failure caused by a large lineside fire north of Colchester caused significant disruption to services. Here, 'Greater Anglia' Class 90 No. 90006 'Modern Railways Magazine' enters the station atop the delayed 11:00 Norwich-London Liverpool Street working. This would be the last through service to Liverpool Street for many hours on an extremely hot August day.
