LNER Class A4 Pacific No. 60009 'Union of South Africa' and Class 47/7 No. 47746 'top and tail' the steam locomotive's support coach as they pass Earfitts Lane, Copmanthorpe, while working from Carnforth Steamtown to York NRM on 28th April 2017. The move was to position No. 60009 at the NRM, ready to take over from LNER Class A3 Pacific No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' on the second leg of 'The Great Britain X' tour on 29th April from York to Edinburgh. Sadly this did not happen due to damaged piston rings and WCR Class 47/7 No. 47746 made the run in its place.
