'Warship' Class 42 diesel hydraulic No. 813 'Diadem' waits for its next duty at Exeter MPD on 23rd August 1970. The loco had a service life of just 12 years and 23 days, being new from Swindon Works on 9th December 1959 and withdrawn from Newton Abbot on 1st January 1972. It was scrapped at Swindon Works during September of that year.
