Hydraulic graveyard. Devoid of its name and builders plates, 'Warship' Class 42 diesel hydraulic No. D819 'Goliath' is sandwiched between classmates 868 'Zephyr' and D822 'Hercules' among a collection of condemned locos in the yard at St Philips Marsh, Bristol, on 10th January 1972. The loco was new from Swindon Works in April 1960 and was withdrawn after a service life of just 11 years and 5 months, in October 1971. It was cut up at Swindon Works during March 1972.
