En-route back to Scotland following attention at Swindon Works, Class 27 diesel electric No. 27040 breaks its journey at Gloucester Horton Road MPD on 5th October 1984. New as No. D5402 from the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in July 1962, the loco was withdrawn in January 1986 and was cut up by Vic Berry at Thornton Yard during April 1987.
