English Electric Class 50 diesel electric No. 50048 'Dauntless' departs from Woking on 19th November 1990 with a London Waterloo - Salisbury service. New from Vulcan Foundry as No. D448 in December 1968 and named on 16th March 1978, it was withdrawn in July 1991 and cut up at MC Metals, Springburn, during April of the following year. The BRCW Class 33 in the background No. 33110 (D6527), was more fortunate. It was withdrawn during September 1992 but survives in preservation on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway.
