At the time when Platform 4 at Gloucester Central was in use solely for parcels traffic, long-time Horton Road resident 0-6-0 diesel shunter No. D3994 is on duty on 11th September 1970. New from Derby Works in October 1960 and first allocated to Tyseley (84E), it later became Class 08 No. 08826 under TOPS. Withdrawn from Motherwell TMD in December 1995, it was then stored at various sites including the East Somerset Railway, Merehead Stone Terminal and the Mid Hants Railway. The loco was finally taken to Eastleigh Works, where it was stripped of spare parts for use in the overhaul of fellow class members 08032 and 08933 and was cut up there by Raxstar during April 2011.
