Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 No. 48168 shunts dead Stanier Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45156 'Ayrshire Yeomanry' back into the shed at Patricroft MPD on 5th May 1968. New from Crewe Works as LMS No. 8168 in April 1943, it was withdrawn from service in June 1968 and cut up during September of that year. The 'Black 5' was new from Armstrong Whitworth as LMS No. 5156 in July 1935 and withdrawn in August 1968. It was cut up by TW Ward of Beighton during December of that year.
