LNER K1 Class Mogul No. 62005 rests between 'Jacobite' duties at Fort William Depot on 25th September 2013. New from the Queens Park Works of the North British Locomotive Company, Glasgow, in June 1949, after a period of 'running in' it was first allocated to Darlington MPD. It survived in service until December 1967 when it was withdrawn from Holbeck (55A). Having been purchased from industry by a consortium headed by Viscount Garnock in 1969, the loco was donated to the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group in 1972.
