Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 No. 48727 at its home shed of Rose Grove (10F) and photographed on the day it was withdrawn from service on 4th August 1968. It was new for the LMS as No. 8727 from Brighton Works in September 1944 and first allocated to Wakefield (25A). Renumbered in July 1949, it was in service for 23 years and 11 months, finally being cut up during January 1969.
