In excellent external condition, 'Warship' Class 42 diesel hydraulic No. 818 'Glory' calls at Exeter St Davids on 22nd May 1972 with a Plymouth - London Paddington working. New from Swindon Works in March 1960 and first allocated to Laira, it survived in service until November 1972. The loco was retained for a number of years at Swindon Works and was considered for preservation but was finally cut-up during November 1985.
