Passing Middle Box, 'Western' Class diesel hydraulic No. D1037 'Western Empress' arrives at Exeter St Davids on 28th August 1971 with a southbound working. New from Crewe Works in August 1962 and first allocated to Laira, it was withdrawn from service in May 1976 and cut-up at Swindon Works during February 1977.
